Contrary to the name, The Raw Bar actually offers a lot more than just molluscs and raw fish. Oyster connoisseurs will enjoy choosing from the extensive list of 16 different types imported from all around the world. Shipments come in four times a week so quality is always guaranteed. Those who want to try something new should order half a dozen Assorted fresh oysters (prices range between B720-B980), which offer a variety of flavours and textures — a great way to expand your palate and knowledge. Each oyster is marked clearly with its name and place of origin so if you fancy one in particular, you’ll know how to order it next time around. Don’t miss Ostra regal (B185 each) and Umami (B185 each) as both are deliciously sweet, creamy and difficult to find anywhere else in Bangkok. Another tasty cold appetiser is Hokkaido wild scallops ceviche (B520). This zesty fresh number is a great palate cleanser and does well to wake up your appetite with sweetness from red and yellow peppers and sourness from citrus dressing. On to the mains; the Lobster roll that comes in half (B960) or whole (B1,650) is sumptuous and worth every bite even if you’re watching your cholesterol. The lobster meat delivers a good crunch and the custom-made brioche bun is soft and sensational. Steamed blue mussels (B780) come out piping hot in a ceramic pot. The rustic charm of the dish is complemented by the aromatic flavours of chorizo and spices that deliver a fiery kick to the tongue. Their cocktails are designed by the same man behind Escapade Burgers & Shakes, so expect fun and fantastic concoctions. Try their Homemade Limoncello (B280), which comes in a cute bottle or signature cocktail Copper (B490), a balanced mixture of Reposado tequila, cherry brandy, sweet vermouth and agave syrup.(Cr.
